EL PASO GHOST TOURS | AFTER DARK COLLECTION 2026–2027

A revolutionary outlaw. A ten-cent ice cream treat. And a friendship destined to end in betrayal.

Step into the shadows of downtown El Paso with the Elite Confectionery edition of our After Dark collection.

Once located on the ground floor of the historic Buckler Building at 201 North Mesa Street, the Elite Confectionery was a popular early 20th-century candy shop and soda fountain. But its customers included far more than ordinary shoppers.

During the Mexican Revolution, legendary revolutionary leader Francisco "Pancho" Villa was a frequent visitor, reportedly stopping by almost daily for his favorite sweets.

The Ten-Cent Treat: Villa reportedly enjoyed chocolate-covered ice cream "baseballs," peanut brittle, and strawberry soda. Despite his fearsome reputation, he was known for abstaining from alcohol.

The Historic Photograph: In May 1911, photographer Otis Aultman captured Villa seated alongside fellow revolutionary leader Pascual Orozco inside the confectionery. Once allies, the two men would eventually become bitter enemies.

The Buckler Building: The original building was destroyed by a devastating fire in 1910 and rebuilt by the architectural firm Trost & Trost. The fire claimed the lives of El Paso Mayor C.R. Robinson and firefighter Todd Ware.

The Shadows of Mesa Street: The historic downtown corridor has witnessed fires, political upheaval, changing loyalties, and more than a century of transformation. Its layered history continues to inspire local paranormal folklore.

Today, the Elite Confectionery is gone, but its stories remain part of El Paso's remarkable past.

This exclusive After Dark design combines authentic historic photographs, imagery of Pancho Villa, vintage confectionery details, and eerie atmospheric artwork inspired by the original location.

Design features:

  • El Paso Ghost Tours emblem on the front left chest.

  • Elite Confectionery historical artwork on the back.

  • Pancho Villa and Pascual Orozco historical references.

  • Distressed vintage styling with dark, atmospheric details.

  • Part of the 2026–2027 After Dark collection.

The sweets are gone. The history remains. And some stories leave a bitter aftertaste.
